We recommend a minimum two-night stay in Beppu, though clients could easily enjoy up to a week. The city is not only Japan’s onsen capital but also an ideal base for exploring the wider region. From Beppu, travellers can take easy day trips to Yufuin, the temple-filled Kunisaki Peninsula, Usa Jingu Shrine, Taketa’s samurai townscape, Saiki’s seafood markets, and the historic streets of Usuki.
